I’m a native of Peterborough, Ontario – the proud father of two children, Jack Allen and Kate Hart – and grateful partner of Sharon Hart.
I received my formal education in psychology and experimental design (statistics) at the University of Waterloo (BA) and the University of Toronto (MA). My graduate studies were supported by a prestigious 1967 National Science and Engineering Scholarship awarded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada.
In 2017, I retired from the position of Vice President, Clinical Services, at Youthdale Treatment Centres, where I continue to consult to the leadership team on strategic planning, program development, risk management, and quality improvement. Most recently, I assisted Youthdale in attaining Exemplary Standing for its children and youth mental health services with Accreditation Canada.
With my expertise in the design, delivery, and evaluation of mental health services and systems, I look forward to supporting leaders who are focused on closing critical gaps or accelerating positive growth in their organizations, including:
- Service Design & Innovation
- Performance Measurement & Quality Improvement
- Risk Management & Critical Incident Response
- Accreditation (Canadian Centre for Accreditation, Accreditation Canada)
- Client Engagement and Child- and Family-Centred Care
- Strategic Partnerships and Alliances
